Sorry for the Disappearance

For those of you who are actually reading this, I am very sorry for disappearing for so long.

I'm not really sure how so much time has passed so quickly. My boss took the 11-26th off this monthy so it's just been me at work. There hasn't been a whole lot going on but there has been enough to keep me away from the boards and my blog during that time.

I got over my stomach flu. We've gotten a check to repair the damages to our car from the other guys insurance company.

I baked over 30 dozen cookies using 8 different kinds of cookies (fudgies, blossoms, snickerdoodles, gingersnaps, raisin filled, peanut butter, chocolate chip and double treat cookies).

I hosted Christmas dinner for the family this year so I cooked the meal all by myself for the first time. I am very ashamed to realize all the work that mom has been going through these last few years without help from me. I will definately be hosting or helping with family dinners a lot more than I have in the past.

I had a very nice Christmas. DH got me a movie and 2 video games and a crystal dragon. My parents bought me a single disk dvd player and two dvd's and a card with a $100. I gave DH a movie, a book, a ps2 game and a computer game and he got a computer game and a book from my parents along with a card with a $100 as well. Dh's parents sent us a $30 gift certificate to olive garden. Dh laughed when we got the card because he was so happy with the gift certicate since in the past we have either gotten things that we've thrown out or not gotten anything at all. He also thought it was funny that my parents go all out every year while his parents barely remember us :) I don't mind so much as long as we are good to each other. The cash that I got is getting stashed away so that I can spend it at nashville night at norwood's niche along with any money I get for my b'day in february. I think my b'day on the 19th will come before nashville night but I'm not completely sure.

I've been very bad and haven't stitched on poor titania at all since I posted a progress pic. I have stitched a couple of mill hill ornaments but not much. I just haven't been in the mood to stitch. I have been reading and baking though and doing some beadwork. I've been experimenting with scissor fobs and debating if I want to approach a couple of lns to see if they would like to carry the fobs in their store on commission or consignment. I've made over 30 fobs in the last 2 weeks but I don't know if they are nice enough to sell. I've also been tossing around the idea of showing them to the girls at the GTG and letting them each pick one out as a belated Christmas gift and give me an opinion about them so I probably won't do anything with them until the GTG on 1/29/05.

I've also been updating my resume and starting the search for a new job. I've been here 6 years and feel kind of stuck. I don't have any room to grow unless I want to become an agent and that is a two year training process to learn things that I already know how to do so that would bore me. I'm thinking about taking the plunge and going into commercial insurance. There would be more money for me and more to do. I get tired of sitting here waiting for people to call. The worst days for me are when I sit here for 9 hours and only get 6 or 7 calls because I'm bored and don't feel like I'm earning my pay. There aren't even any on-line training courses for me to take anymore since I've taken all of them that the company offers.

Hope everyone out there has had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year brings lots of joy and good times to all of you.

Best of luck on the job hunt! And I know all of us GSFL ladies would be happy to critique your fobs. Can't wait to see you in a month!
